I would fail every inspection if I did an install in this manner. Don’t go cheap when you go green!
Lighten up folks. mount some panels on your rat shack and get some lights on… its easy to do with the stuff on hand… yes we all want pro contractors to do all our work for us… nothing $ 100 bucks an hour wont cure. But it is an easy DIY as we see here… dont be scared! EMPOWER yourself for the future…
Its true though if you have strong wind you can use 2 bolts… or more. new wood.. sealer thats ok too.. ground rack, motor home.. fine by me.
See?

this is a joke!!
This is called “expert village”. This is exactly why a certified installer should do an install.
The internet has some really bad information out there….homeowners do not copy this method…you will be sorry.
i dont think you should drill a hole through the metal on the shingle and what did you seal hole with and the one block was already cracked -does the home-owner know bout this video i would be pissed are you even a license contractor you scare me dude-
Isn’t that going to leak?
PM me for solar deals
Are you sure , you are working with the codes, No way it is accepted to mount the solar ray without proper insulation of roofing. Please dont make such unprofesional installation procedure in UT. with that single screw which you mounted rail on the roof , it cant stand the wind spped of 100 miles per hour. secondly you should find the stud first nt just screw over the shingle.
it’d be nice if these videos were in chronological order….
FANTASTIC!
